How to get well and be well
Wallace Wattles wrote the book The science of being well around a century back and the concepts are valid even today.
One of the famous Wallace Wattles Quotes is: ‘the thoughts of disease produce he forms of disease’. Wallace believed and taught that we need to correct our thoughts in order to get well. The outward medicines do help a disease, however the root cause of ill health is in the mind and that is where we need to focus in order to get well.
One of the basic problems in implementing his concept is a general inability to think well when you are actually not well. This can be accomplished only by understanding Spiritual wisdom behind what Wallace Wattles said. The basic concept is that there is a unity in creation. So we are not separate and attract circumstances and situations according to our vibration. If this reminds you law of attraction, yes, it is, however Wattles spoke more in terms of spiritual concepts rather than calling it a law of attraction.
Now let us come to an example. Let us say, one person is reasonably wealthy and has all resources to live well. She goes on a holiday to an island and she loses her wallet and all credit cards. While this might cause temporary inconvenience, she knows fully well that she will be in a position to pay back all the dues when she comes back to her home. She does not think she suddenly became poor because of the temporary loss. In the same way, you can think that you are internally healthy even though at a particular time, loss of health overtook you. Just as the person in the example knows that she is wealthy even though there is no cash at hand, you can think of having inherent health irrespective of present problems.
The thoughts have an influence on our physical body. When you start thinking that you are healthy, it will have a positive influence on your body as well. As Wallace Wattles emphasizes, keeping healthy thoughts is essential to get well and also to be well.
